Allegra Harpootlian is a Communications Manager in the Peace and Security Collaborative, where she works with leading experts and organizations on the intersection between national security, politics, and the media. Allegra principally works on the issue of US drones policies, including the transparency of policy overall and the legal framework surrounding targeted killing and the proliferation of military drone technology. She is also a Political Partner with the Truman National Security Project, where she works with other political leaders, advocates, communicators, and journalists to shape and advocate for tough, smart progressive national security solutions.
Prior to joining ReThink, Allegra worked at Atlantic Media for two years, where she was responsible for media engagement surrounding The Atlantic, Defense One, National Journal, and other Atlantic brands. While at Atlantic Media, Allegra was principally responsible for pitching broadcast and print outlets and acting as the media liaison between Atlantic journalists and producers. Prior to Atlantic Media, Allegra interned with Ogilvy Public Relations, where she worked in their Social Change division.
Allegra holds a BS in Public Affairs from Indiana University and prides herself on thriving when she’s running around with her head cut off. In her spare time, Allegra binge watches too much Netflix and prides herself with finding the best happy hours around town.
