Allegra Harpootlian is the newest Media Associate in the Peace and Security Collaborative, where she works with leading experts and organizations on the intersection between national security, politics, and the media. Allegra principally works on the issue of US drones policies, including the transparency of policy overall and the legal framework surrounding targeted killing and the proliferation of military drone technology.
Prior to joining ReThink, Allegra worked at Atlantic Media for two years, where she was responsible for media engagement surrounding The Atlantic, Defense One, National Journal, and other Atlantic brands. While at Atlantic Media, Allegra was principally responsible for pitching broadcast and print outlets and acting as the media liaison between Atlantic journalists and producers. Prior to Atlantic Media, Allegra interned with Ogilvy Public Relations, where she worked in their Social Change division.
Allegra holds a BS in Public Affairs from Indiana University and prides herself on thriving when she’s running around with her head cut off. In equal measures she like to read the hundred newsletters (S/O to Vox Sentences) she gets a day, and binge-watch The West Wing, explore the DC brunch scene, or drink wine on a patio.
