Fadwa Rashid is Palestinian, first generation and raised in Chicago by immigrant parents. They have called Oakland home for more than 20 years. Their early experiences of racism and Islamophobia led to the pursuit of social justice and asking questions. Fadwa discovered that their passion for finance was their offering to help create social change.They bring more than 15 years of finance experience with nonprofit organizations and worker-owned businesses. Most recently, Fadwa was the Accounting Director at Power California, and before that, they worked in finance, human resources, and business management with Strength in Numbers Bookkeeping Cooperative and Arizmendi Bakery in Oakland. Fadwa also has experience with 501(c)(4) nonprofit organizations and state campaign finance laws.
Their passion is to support the critical internal organizational infrastructure and develop the financial acumen of all staff, building the greater strength of our social justice movements.
