Kat DesCamp-Renner is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and a B.A. in Global Studies: Middle Eastern Studies. In the fall, she will be joining the Friends Committee on National Legislation as the Middle East Program Assistant.
While at the University of Virginia, Kat worked for three years as a research assistant in the Department of Politics, studying the impact of peace and security issues on religious minorities in Iraq. She previously interned for the Security Assistance Monitor program at the Center for International Policy and at Churches for Middle East Peace. Her areas of interest include American foreign policy towards Iran, the Pentagon budget, foreign security assistance, and ending the post-9/11 wars.
Kat is proficient in Persian and is originally from Portland, Oregon.
