Lenai Johnson is a Communications Associate with ReThink’s Peace and Security Collaborative. In this role, she works with organizations across the foreign policy space to advocate for nuclear disarmament, decreased pentagon spending, justice for communities impacted by nuclear testing, and greater voice share of Black and Brown professionals in the peace and security field.
Originally from Wisconsin, Lenai attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for undergrad, receiving her BA in Psychology and Legal Studies with a certificate in Criminal Justice. She completed her Master of Global Affairs with a concentration in International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, researching the potential for collective liberation between Black and Indigenous communities in the United States. Prior to joining ReThink Media, Lenai worked with various organizations committed to peace and social justice, including: the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s Office, the US Peace Corps, YWCA Madison, Survival International, the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, and The Accomplice Project.
Outside of work, Lenai enjoys (stress)baking, traveling, exploring coffee shops and bookstores, game nights, and scuba diving (when she lives near the ocean).
