Peace and Security Intern
Meagan Dashcund is thrilled to be joining the ReThink Media team as the Peace and Security Intern, where she hopes to learn more about the relationship between national security, the media, and politics. She is excited to be living and working in DC again and to get a front row viewing of the current political climate.
Before joining ReThink, Meagan worked alongside the US Army War College, where she researched the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and produced an animated informational video on combatting corruption. Prior to that, she was the Community Affairs and Outreach Intern at the PLO Delegation to the US and a student intern at the National Council on US-Arab Relations. She focused on improving the American public’s understanding of Palestine and building greater appreciation for Palestinian culture while attending courses and lectures on the relationship between the US and the Middle East.
Meagan grew up in Hamilton, MA and recently graduated from Dickinson College where she acquired a BA in International Studies and Religion, a minor in Arabic, and a certificate in Security Studies. She specialized in the Middle East and spent significant time studying abroad in Palestine, Israel, Jordan, and England. She recommends her current reading book: Islamophobia and Racism in America to anyone and everyone because it is a great read (and she is friends with the author!).
