Fatima Khan

Consultant, Protect Their Future
Fatima Khan is a consultant to ReThink Media’s Rights & Inclusion team, with over two decades of experience in civil rights advocacy, strategic communications, and crisis management. She has led efforts to combat police brutality, hate crimes, surveillance, unconstitutional policies, and abuses in the criminal legal system—often working at the intersection of racial justice, constitutional rights, and public accountability.
Fatima is also the co-founder of Protect Their Future, a national nonprofit focused on children’s health equity. In that role, she has spearheaded campaigns to expand vaccine access for young children, organized protests and federal advocacy efforts, and mobilized cross-sector coalitions to hold agencies accountable in times of public health crisis.
Her work spans nonprofit, political, and corporate spheres. As an independent consultant and through PR firms such as Hill & Knowlton and Porter Novelli, she has advised Fortune 100 companies, including Walmart, Samsung, and Gap Inc. on crisis response, media engagement, and public affairs during reputationally sensitive moments.
Fatima’s political experience includes serving in Senator Ted Kennedy’s press office, where she worked on education and health policy, and directing ethnic outreach for Gen. Wesley Clark’s presidential campaign. She also conducted political outreach for John Kerry’s presidential run through the Michigan Coordinated Campaign.
In her downtime, Fatima enjoys experimenting with new culinary cuisines and exploring new places with her two elementary-aged children. She’s currently learning how to play tennis so she can keep up with the rest of her family on the court.
