Mary Kaszynski

Peace and Security

Mary tracks all press coverage of nuclear weapons issues, Pentagon spending, North Korea and Iran, and is managing ReThink’s research into the journalists that drive peace and security coverage in the US.

Mary came to ReThink with a wide spectrum of experience. She began her career in the policy sector working on the Pentagon Budget at the Stimson Center, served as a research assistant to the President of the Ploughshares Fund, and then worked as a Policy Analyst in the nuclear security program at the American Security Project. With strong writing skills and drawn to the view that the national discourse drives the potential for policy gains, she joined the staff of ReThink in early 2013, but immediately felt like she’d been here from Day One.

Mary holds an MA in US Foreign Policy from American University. If she isn’t monitoring global conflicts and providing advice on media engagement, she is likely reading. She is always looking for book recommendations on just about any topic, from knitting to nuclear policy.
