Senior Communications Associate, Rights & Inclusion

Mira is a Senior Communications Associate in the Rights & Inclusion team, working on the Building Bridges Program. She’s based in Berkeley, CA.

Mira brings over a decade of professional and movement experience to Rethink Media, having worked in the tech industry, non-profit sector, academia, and as an organizer with several local and transnational organizations. She is passionate about researching and writing about media and social movements.

Before joining ReThink Media, she worked with Apple Podcasts as an international podcasts manager and emerging markets editor. In these roles, she collaborated with content creators to help amplify diverse voices and ensure their visibility. She also worked as a radio producer for Pacifica’s KPFA-FM.

Mira has authored two book chapters: one in “Teen Lives around the World: A Global Encyclopedia,” published in 2019, and another in “Wired Citizenship: Youth Learning and Activism in the Middle East,” published by Routledge in 2014. She holds Masters degrees in Peace, Conflict, and Development Studies and Communication Studies. Mira is a fellow with SMEX, an organization working on human rights in digital spaces across West Asia and North Africa, and is a member of the Palestinian Feminist Collective.

In her free time, Mira enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time in nature and running after her active toddler.
